Scientists have found that learning a new language helps to exercise the brain and keep it in shape – something we all need a little of, especially at the start of a busy week. Learning a language helps the brain by developing certain parts of the brain including the hippocampus and three areas of the cerebral cortex.
We are as passionate about learning and sharing languages as we are about our translation services, so we thought it would be a nice way to start the week. This week; Spanish. Spanish is a Romance language with about 414 million native speakers, more than 500 million speakers of Spanish as a first or second language, and 20 million students of Spanish as a foreign language! So even if you’re not in a Spanish speaking country, it’s highly likely you’ll still bump into someone who can speak it from time to time and you can both grow the hippocampus of your brains bigger by practicing together.
In the lesson below, in under 11 minutes, you’re going to be able to say hello and introduce yourself to 500 million more people. Enjoy!
